I'm embarrassed to say that I don't think I've ever listened to Gram Parsons. I'm off to remedy that post haste. And good for the older charge for making sure his needs are met. Too bad he's the one in charge of that. I remember a similar exchange between my cousin S. (now 17) when he was about the same age and my mother, who really should have known better. S. was also very verbal very early. After my mom said something to S. in a tone of voice that S. deemed inappropriate, he turned to his mother and asked, "Mommy, why is she talking like Vanna White." Needless to say, my mom mended her ways immediately.

Sounds like your mom raised you right. Especially with the not killing you parts. I actually thanked my mom for not killing me as well, because boy have I deserved it from time to time. (Unfortunately well-documented on the internet, which is all my fault.)
