i'd say the real evil plot is that i get no update when you sign my guestbook. bastards! i only notice a few days after when others sign. maybe we're being punished for speaking out against THE MAN.

long time no see. . .

Hmm. I hadn't thought of the trash service. I'll have too look into that. I know the wildlife people here will only remove animals if they're still alive. I've been known to lie to them before --"It was alive when I called you!" -- but I'm pretty sure that I couldn't be very convincing this time. Either way, though, I'm balking at taking the deck apart, which is, I'm pretty sure, the only way to get the thing out of there. Maybe I should just get a gas mask and pretend nothing's wrong...

Aw, how can I even post a guestbook note after that last one? I was just writing to say that I was inclined to agree with you regarding the preference of rural to urban wildlife until we attempted to remove something that died under our deck this afternoon. We know something died because of the odor and the cloud of flies. We were not, however, able to remove it, since it seems to have keeled over where the deck meets the house and is only about 3 inches off the ground. This has had us pondering whether quicklime, oft cited in detective novels, will help. It's also had us wondering if we will be marked with suspicion if the neighbors see us hauling quicklime out behind the house. Then again, perhaps that kind of a reputation would be useful.

haha! we are drunk with secret investigation knowledge! in any case, i think your backyard wedding is right up my alley. way more personal (and despite the interference and insistence of certain family members who might decree the "right" way of doing things) and way more meaningful in that it's a wedding the way you two want it. gorgeous.

Thank you! Silencing 8th graders is a pretty minor superpower, I guess, but it's better than nothing. P.S., I love the Cave That Dare Not Speak Its Name.
